Retirement will await Bartolo Colon

Pitcher Bartolo Colon, the last active member of the Montreal Expos, was just drafted at age 50.

The Dominican was drafted with the 16th pick in Baseball United’s league auction. He was selected by the Karachi Monarchs, a city in Pakistan.

The new circle was founded in particular by former star players Mariano Rivera and Barry Larkin. It will feature four teams and will attempt to popularize baseball in the Middle East. The other teams are Mumbai Cobras, Dubai Wolves and Abu Dhabi Falcons.

Colon began his Major Baseball career in 1997 and retired in 2018. During this very long career, the shooter wore the colors of 11 teams, including the Expos in 2002.

After the big leagues, the veteran played for a club in his home country and also played in a Mexican professional league. He announced his resignation on June 2nd.

Colon is led by former Monarchs shortstop Miguel Tejada.

In addition, Quebec native Louis-Philippe Pelletier was drafted by the Wolves in the seventh round. The latter has worn the colors of the Aigles de Trois-Rivières for the last two seasons.
