“The UN Security Council is proving once again that it is unable to stop the massacre of the Palestinian people. Your emergency meeting today ended without agreeing to either of the two proposed resolutions,” he posted on his X account.

According to the Cuban foreign minister, the United States presented a proposal that “deliberately omitted the call for a ceasefire and the need to stop the massacre, protect the civilian population and stop the forced displacement.”

Rodríguez Parrilla, in turn, denounced that Washington’s “irresponsibility” in dealing with this crisis and its support for Israel’s “unacceptable” actions led to the initiative rejected by the Security Council.

Likewise, he recalled that the United States and other countries had not approved Russia’s proposal on Palestine, which called for an immediate ceasefire, condemned attacks against civilians, called for a reversal of Israel’s intention to force the displacement of the Gaza Strip population and the deployment humanitarian aid supplies called for help.

Finally, the Cuban diplomat confirmed the Security Council’s “total paralysis” in the face of the Palestinian crisis, while the Gaza Strip Health Ministry has reported at least 6,500 deaths due to the Zionist army’s incessant bombing.

On October 18, the United States was the only country to veto a resolution presented by Brazil that called for the establishment of humanitarian pauses in the Gaza Strip and the lifting of Israel’s order to evacuate civilians and personnel from the Gaza Strip. UN north of the enclave.
