MAUI, Hawaii, Oct. 26, 2023 /CNW/ – Global technology brand HONOR today announced that its upcoming HONOR Magic6 will be based on the revolutionary Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 mobile platform, demonstrating the power of the large on-device voice model with seven Billions of parameters as revealed at the Snapdragon 2023 Hawa Summit. The collaboration between HONOR and Qualcomm Technologies leverages the expertise of both companies to support the large on-device language model and create a human-centered ecosystem that enables seamless intelligent interactions across multiple devices. During the event, HONOR also unveiled several enhanced MagicRing connectivity features to highlight the collaboration between the two companies.

Unlike cloud-based large language models that are trained on publicly available datasets, HONOR’s on-device large language models rely on their understanding of the device user to provide personalized services according to their preferences. To develop a rich on-device voice model that can benefit everyday consumers, HONOR and Qualcomm Technologies collaborated in three key areas: performance, efficiency and consumer protection. The joint efforts resulted in optimizations that allow the mobile platform to effectively utilize the large language model without excessive power consumption, as well as data protection that ensures data on the device remains safe and secure.
Equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 mobile platform, HONOR Magic6 is powered by a large on-device language model with seven billion parameters to usher in a new era of generative AI. To demonstrate the potential of its AI capabilities, HONOR also presented a demonstration on creating AI videos during its presentation. By providing on-device prompts for the YOYO intelligent voice assistant, users can easily create short videos using photos and images stored on their devices. The templates, themes, and music of the videos produced can also be customized with additional prompts to achieve personalized results.
At Snapdragon Summit 2023, HONOR also demonstrated a multimodal interaction based on eye tracking called Magic Capsule, as well as three key features of MagicRing: connected camera, connection between and screen sharing across multiple devices. Powered by the latest Snapdragon Seamless technology, MagicRing lets you seamlessly share a wider variety of data between devices while being more powerful and efficient than ever before.
