A new trailer for the sixth and final season of Netflix series The Crown was released today – with Princess Diana’s controversial “ghost” as one of the key characters.

Sensational conversations between Diana and the late Queen, a watery-eyed King Charles and a “final” phone call with William and his mother – the finale of The Crown does not limit itself to creative freedom.

Netflix bosses are set to spark controversy with the first part of their final series of the drama as the trailer reveals it depicts the royal family’s most intimate moments leading up to and after the crash that killed Diana on August 25, 1997 becomes.

Elizabeth Debicki, 33, returns in her second season as the late Princess of Wales and has a “final” phone call with 15-year-old William, played by Rufus Kampa, 17, before the fatal accident in Paris.

William asks Diana if she’s okay before she morbidly replies, “Everything’s been a bit crazy lately,” before light bulbs flash and the audience sees her get into the black Mercedes that would drive her to her death.

The accident isn’t explicitly revealed in the cryptic trailer, but the audience sees a shot of Diana clinging to Dodi Fayed’s hand in the back of the car.

A taciturn queen, played by Imelda Staunton, 67, sensationally explains to Diana: “You have finally succeeded in turning this house on its head.” “It is nothing short of a revolution,” although Her Late Majesty never revealed what she was doing feels for her daughter-in-law.

Another outrageously dramatized scene shows Charles, played by Dominic West, on the phone after the princess’s death, as he grimly announces that the funeral will be “the greatest thing any of us have ever seen.”

The funeral, which was not shown in the trailer, was filmed at a disused RAF base five miles outside Bicester, Oxfordshire.

In scenes, Princes William and Harry will be seen alongside King Charles, the Duke of Edinburgh and Earl Spencer in the funeral procession behind his mother’s coffin.

The first four episodes, arriving on the streaming giant on November 16, will focus on the young princes as teenagers in the summer of 1997 as they divide their time between their mother, who is with the Fayeds aboard a yacht in the sea is southern France and her father is in Balmoral.

Viewers will also see the Queen be struck by the depths of grief following Diana’s death – which will almost certainly upset members of the royal family.

The shows will also feature Mohammed Al Fayed, who died earlier this year, dealing with the loss of his son while being shunned by the royals, while Prince Williams returns to school at Eton where he is struggling to cope with the death of his mother has.

Fans will have to wait until December 14 for the final six episodes, which Netflix insiders say will be “funnier.”

The scenes show the meeting of Prince William and Kate Middleton at St. Andrews University and the final program shows the wedding of King Charles and Queen Camilla – played by Olivia Williams – in April 2005.

Today’s trailer, shared by the streaming service on social media, revolves around the Queen and her tragic death following the fatal car accident in Paris in 1997.

Imelda plays Queen Elizabeth II in the final season and tells Diana’s “ghost” that she has “finally managed to turn this house upside down.”

The trailer begins with Elizabeth Debicki’s Diana playing the piano and declaring in voiceover, “I don’t really understand how I ended up here.” I run around… losing sight of myself. I think that’s been the story of my whole life.”

Her Majesty, played by Imelda, appears gloomy in a scene shown in the teaser clip. The teaser also shows Diana struggling to deal with media attention following the end of her marriage to Charles (Dominic West, pictured), the then Prince of Wales

As a royal adviser flips through the Diana-dominated newspaper front pages, he then says to the Queen: “I’m afraid, Your Majesty, interest in the Princess’ private life is unlikely to wane any time soon.”

To which Her Majesty replies, “All you want is for that girl to find peace,” as scenes of the Princess singing with young Prince William during a car ride are played.

Her eldest son, played by Rufus Kampa as a teenager, asks, “Mom, are you okay?” The princess replies, “I’m fine, it’s just… Everything’s been a little crazy lately.”

Diana is then filmed receiving roses from her lover Dodi Fayed (Khalid Abdalla), along with a note that says: “Next week in Paris?” before the clip jumps to the Princess in a car surrounded by photographers.

The final moments of the trailer appear to deal with the aftermath of Diana and Dodi’s deaths following a car accident in a Paris tunnel in August 1997.

In the teaser, Dominic as Prince Charles can be heard saying that the Queen should “be the mother of the nation,” while there is talk of silence from Buckingham Palace.

He added: “You saw the pictures on TV, Diana gave people around the world what they needed by the thousands and they adored her for it.”

The trailer ends with the line: “This will be the greatest thing any of us have ever seen.”

Royal insiders suggested the latest episode is likely to be viewed as in poor taste, particularly as “deeply painful memories for family members are reduced to sensationalism”.

Speaking to Web, royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams said that “the idea that they even thought of Diana as a ghost seems absolutely strange.”

Mr Fitzwilliams said: “With what they’re already showing – the Panorama documentary, her death and the funeral – it’s definitely going to be a controversial series and in my opinion that last series shouldn’t have existed at all.”

“The whole idea that (series creator) Peter Morgan scripted the ghostly appearances of Diana is in complete distaste.” It’s unfortunate that someone of his abilities would reduce what is undoubtedly a tragedy to nothing which he knows full well will be controversial.

Netflix recently released new images to promote the final season of the hit drama – including a poster (above) showing the three actors who played Queen Elizabeth II in “The Crown” side by side

“The idea that he wrote a script for a ghost figure of Prince William and Harry’s mother is obviously in poor taste and the whole concept of whatever the ghost says or does seems absolutely bizarre.”

The drama will air in two parts, with four episodes available to stream from November 16 leading up to Diana’s funeral.

The second part, which consists of the final six shows and ends with the wedding of Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles, will stream from December 14th.

As the series began filming last year on the final series moving into the current era, it faced a range of criticisms ranging from accusations of fictionalization to reinterpretation of events.

Former Prime Minister Sir John Major criticized the series last year after it depicted King Charles – then Prince of Wales – encouraging Sir John to persuade the Queen that she should abdicate.

Sir John said the scenes will be “deeply hurtful to a family still grieving the very person on whose life the entire drama is based”.

Former Labor Prime Minister Tony Blair also described the act as “complete and utter nonsense”.

Meanwhile, it received further backlash when it recreated Diana’s car crash in Paris on August 31, 1997, while she was traveling in a car with Dodi Fayed, the son of the late Harrods boss Mohammed Al-Fayed.

The moment of the fatal accident in a Paris tunnel was not shown, although images taken during filming showed a replica of the destroyed Mercedes.

Friends of Diana said the show’s creators could face accusations of “insensitivity” and accused Netflix of “exposing” the fatal crash.

Debbie Frank, who was Diana’s astrologer, previously told the Mail that it would be “horrifying” for William and Harry to see a recreation of the moments before their mother’s death.

“It’s obviously terrible for Diana’s children to have to see this again.” “It’s insensitive,” she said. She added: “I feel like Diana’s death and the crash was the biggest shock to our generation. “It had such a huge impact on the national psyche.

“I suspect that the makers of The Crown feel they are entitled to show a re-enactment of the scenes before her death and that it has dramatic effect. But relatives would think otherwise.’

Executives stressed at the Edinburgh TV Festival in August this year that the portrayal of Diana’s death had been done with the utmost sensitivity.

Producer Suzanne Mackie said: “The show may be big and loud, but we are not. “We are thoughtful and sensitive people. There were very careful and long discussions about how we would do it.

Recently released images (above) show actress Elizabeth Debicki, who plays Diana in season six of the royal drama, recreating the princess’ walk

“In the end, the audience will judge it.” But I think it was carefully and carefully recreated.

“Elizabeth Debicki is an extraordinary actress and she was so considerate and considerate. She loved Diana. The respect from all of us is huge. I hope that’s clear.’

Last fall, Netflix bowed to pressure and began prefacing the show with a disclaimer: “Inspired by real events, this fictional dramatization tells the story of Queen Elizabeth II and the political and personal events that shaped her reign.”

In a previous interview, creator Peter Morgan admitted “unavoidable errors in accuracy” but said: “I absolutely value that there is an underlying truth.”

The release of the trailer comes after it was revealed that Princess Diana’s famous landmine walk was recreated in the sixth and final season of Netflix series The Crown.

In one of the final and most defining acts of her life, the princess was seen walking through a minefield in Angola to support the vital work of a charity in a war zone.

Now pictures from the hit series show actress Elizabeth Debicki, who plays Diana in the sixth season of the royal drama, recreating the princess’ walk in 1997.

Debicki wears an exact replica of Diana’s outfit, meticulously replicating her chunky gold earrings, blown-out hairstyle and white shirt.

It comes as Netflix boss Ted Sarandos revealed there is a “wall” talking to Prince Harry about The Crown.

The streaming service’s CEO told Variety that he had never spoken about the hit royal drama starring the US-based Duke of Sussex, 39, who has an estimated £80m development deal with Netflix.

“We keep a wall around this topic when we talk,” he said, “for obvious reasons,” while The Crown creator Peter Morgan added that he also “never had the conversation with them.” [Harry] about it,” although the royal previously joked that he was “fact-checking” the series.

Morgan, meanwhile, explained that he had not read the Duke’s bombshell memoir, Spare, declaring: “I haven’t read a word of it.” Not that I’m not interested. But I didn’t want his voice to influence my thinking too much. I have great sympathy for him.”

This comes after Netflix released new images to promote the final season of the hit drama – including a poster showing the three actors who played Queen Elizabeth II in “The Crown” side by side.

The touching image was shared on X, formerly Twitter, and posted with the caption: “Duty lasts a lifetime.”

“The Crown” returns to Netflix on November 16th.
