According to the extremist group Hamas, “around 50 Israeli hostages” have died in the Israeli bombings in the Gaza Strip. The figure was released by Hamas in a statement posted on Telegram.
“The AlQassam Brigades estimates that the number of Zionist hostages who died in the Gaza Strip as a result of Zionist bombings and massacres was around 50,” the text said.
Israel began its invasion of the Gaza Strip
On the 20th day of the war between Israel and Hamas, Israeli forces confirmed that they were carrying out a ground attack into the Gaza Strip. Tel Aviv entered the area to attack the extremist group’s facilities. According to the Portal news agency, the operation is considered “relatively large”.
New Israeli bombings hit 250 Hamas sites. The Israeli army said tanks and infantry entered the northern Gaza Strip, killing “many” Hamas fighters and destroying military infrastructure and antitank positions.
The operation took place under the control of the Givati Brigade, one of five infantry units in Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s army, and was carried out in preparation for the “next phases of combat,” meaning a fullscale ground offensive.
The military also said the raid targeted antitank posts set up by the extremist group. The Israeli statement highlighted that its forces left Gaza at the end of the attack.
