After a long, solid friendship in the WWE, Rey Mysterio and Santos Escobar appear to be under control in the LWO. Additionally, fans are excited to see Mysterio’s starting defense at Crown Jewel against Logan Paul for the U.S. Championship.
Rey Mysterio and Santos Escobar will team up on WWE Smackdown to take on the Street Profits. One of the possible scenarios that could play out in the series is that we see Escobar betray Mysterio. Currently, Escobar can’t seem to get the “Maestro del 619” winning the championship out of his mind after taking Escobar’s place and defeating Austin Theory. Let’s also not forget that Mysterio defeated him in his only starting opportunity last September. Additionally, Carlito’s arrival may create new alliances or tensions within the LWO itself.
If Santos Escobar betrays Rey Mysterio, it would be a clear and bold message to the entire LWO faction. In addition, fans have been eagerly awaiting a confrontation between the tough Escobar and Mysterio for a long time.
It’s worth noting that Santos Escobar is one of the stars who has previously focused on defending the Latino race over other stars in the Stamford-based promotion. The interaction between these two would certainly be a moment worth watching.

Santos Escobar almost beat Rey Mysterio
The Rey Mysterio vs. Santos Escobar fight occurred on WWE’s SmackDown show on September 29, 2023. The fight was for Mysterio’s US Championship.
The fight became intense and both fighters gave their best. Escobar managed to execute his final attack, the Phantom Driver, but Mysterio managed to escape. Mysterio responded with his finishing move, the 619, followed by the West Coast Pop. Escobar managed to recover and avoid the count of three.
The match culminated in Mysterio using a roll-up on Escobar to win the match and retain the championship. The match was very well received by fans, who enjoyed the combination of Mysterio and Escobar’s fighting styles.
