A journey that starts well for the Remparts

The Quebec Remparts began their short trip to the Maritimes with a 3-2 win over the Acadie-Bathurst Titan on Friday at the KC Irving Regional Center.

Head coach Éric Veilleux’s team had not played for six days since the 4-1 defeat against the Victoriaville Tigres. The Red Devils quickly put their two consecutive defeats behind them.

They scored once per half and got into the game for the first time thanks to a power play goal from Carl-Anthony Massé. Daniel Agostino scored the winning goal in the first half of the third period by firing a cannonball at the reception.

Having just learned that his name was on the initial list of 36 Quebec Major Junior Hockey League prospects for the 2024 National League (NHL) Draft, Pier-Étienne Cloutier scored his fourth goal of the season. The rookie player hit a puck on the fly and beat Antoine Keller.

Cloutier and teammate Antoine Dorion received a “W” rating from the NHL, meaning they are slated for the sixth or seventh round or scouts need more time to assess their potential.

Robert Orr and Milo Roelens responded for the home team. The Titan faced Canadian prospect Quentin Miller of Montreal, who made 24 saves.

This weekend, the Remparts visit the Moncton Wildcats and the Saint-Jean Sea Dogs.
