Microsoft has just updated the list of officially supported processors for its Windows 11 operating system. Interestingly, the giant is reintroducing Intel processors that it removed earlier this year.
Windows 11 has stricter system requirements than Windows 10. These changes are so significant that millions of Windows 10 PCs will be ineligible for an upgrade. At the same time, there is an ultimatum as support for Windows 10 will soon end. It is clear that tens, if not hundreds, of millions of machines will be decommissioned in two years. You have to work with a vulnerable operating system and without a security patch.
Microsoft explained that these changes to system requirements are related to security and reliability. If you use Windows 10, you can check whether your hardware configuration meets these requirements by running Microsoft’s PC Health Check application. Third-party tools such as WhynotWin11 can also be used.
Microsoft also publishes lists of supported processors on its website. These publicly available lists apply to Intel, AMD and Qualcomm chips. They are useful because they are important documents for organizations, manufacturers and individuals who want to know whether a particular processor is compatible.
Windows 11 will refuse to install if there is a processor that is not in these lists. There are ways to get around these limitations, but they inevitably cause more or less significant problems. Tools like Rufus allow you to create operating system installation keys by bypassing these limitations.

The most recent intervention by Microsoft at the level of its Lites was the deletion of 44 references last August. It caused a surprise because PCs were incompatible with Windows 11 without any explanation. Fortunately, this change didn’t cause widespread chaos.
Deskmodder has just observed a step backwards from Microsoft. The company has reintroduced these processors. The company made no statement and the action was discreet. It is possible that this deletion was originally an error.
The affected devices will no longer experience problems with the next upgrade. It is officially called Windows 11 2023 Update.
