Following the worst air strikes Gaza has suffered since the start of the war, here is the update on the situation at midday.
đź”· The pace of bombings in Gaza has slowed since this morning but could intensify as night falls, Israeli officials have already warned. According to the army spokesman, soldiers remain in the Gaza Strip while ground fighting continues.
đź”· “Hundreds of buildings and houses were completely destroyed and thousands of other houses were damaged,” a Gaza Civil Defense spokesman said, as the night’s heaviest bombardment continued. They focused on areas around two hospitals, al-Shifa in Gaza City and a hospital in the Jabaliya sector further north.
🔷 After these “intense bombings,” all communications, electricity and internet access were disrupted in the enclave. NGOs that are no longer in contact with their teams on the ground are expressing concern. In this regard, Elon Musk announced that he would make Starlink, his internet service provider, available to “internationally recognized aid organizations in Gaza.”
đź”· In this context, the families of the hostages held by Hamas expressed their fears and called for a meeting with the Israeli government to obtain information about the fate of their relatives. According to the Haaretz daily, a meeting with Defense Minister Yoav Gallant is expected, a first meeting since October 7th.
