The Israeli government also said it attacked 150 underground Hamas targets in the Gaza Strip on Friday night (October 27, 2023). According to a statement released on Saturday morning (October 28), the attacks destroyed underground tunnels and killed Hamas militants. This would have been the heaviest airstrike to date in the war between Israel and Hamas.
“At night the fighters [de Israel] Attacked 150 underground targets in the northern Gaza Strip, including terror tunnels, underground combat rooms and additional underground infrastructure. In addition, several Hamas terrorists were killed,” the IDF wrote on Telegram.
According to the IDF, among those killed was Asem Abu Rakaba, head of Hamas air operations, who is said to have participated in the attack on Israel with drones and paragliders on October 7th.
Israeli forces also said they had attacked Hezbollah’s military infrastructure in Lebanon. The attack was in response to an offensive by the extremist group against Israeli territory that eventually reached Syria.
Information from Gaza is scarce. On Friday (October 27), the region experienced power and internet shortages due to attacks, increasing isolation and concerns about humanitarian issues.
