EMILY PRESCOTT: A beautiful response from Amanda Ghost, who wanted to write James Blunt out of the history of his hit

Singer James Blunt has accused his co-writer Amanda Ghost of exaggerating her involvement in the production of his hit You’re Beautiful.

In his new memoir, which he says is “inspired” by the truth, James, 49, writes that he credited Amanda with ten percent of the song – which was No. 1 for five weeks in 2005 – even though she only did one had a passing comment about “[tying] until the end of the chorus. But Amanda, 49, who is working on a musical based on “The Great Gatsby,” isn’t having it.

Amanda tells me: “I hope that with his new book James proves himself to be one of the greatest novelists of his generation.”

Do you feel the sarcasm?

Princess Margaret’s son David Linley has spent most of his life privately working on his bespoke furniture business. But I can reveal that David, 61, has teamed up with Made in Chelsea’s Mark-Francis Vandelli for a TV show. Mark-Francis, 34, told me at Maddox Gallery: “It’s very exciting and it’s all about vintage stuff.”

Forget reports that Princess Diana’s childhood home, Althorp, is haunted – the scariest thing about the house is its paintings. So says Earl Spencer’s wife Karen, who is busy arranging family portraits for the newly renovated attic. Karen, who married Diana’s brother in 2011, revealed her simple rule about what goes where: “I prefer paintings of women and children in bedrooms,” she says. “It’s a little scary when old men look down on you when you’re trying to sleep.”
