Taylor Swift breaks her own streaming record with the 1989 re-recording… as she prepares to resume the Eras tour

The only person who can break a Taylor Swift record seems to be Taylor Swift.

According to a post from the streaming service

The hitmaker released her re-encoded album 1989 (Taylor’s Version) on Friday.

Not only did she record more plays of the LP than any other artist, according to Variety, she also set a 2023 record for being the most streamed Spotify album in a single day so far this year.

She set the record just over a year ago with the release of her album Midnights.

Spotify didn’t reveal exact numbers, but revealed that new Vault track S**t! (Taylor’s Version) made its US debut at number one with 5.2 million streams.

There were 11.3 million worldwide.

On the global charts, the singer’s non-vault track, Style, performed even better with 11.6 million streams.

The singer, who is preparing to hit the road again with her Eras tour, has not commented on the success of 1989 (Taylor’s Version).

However, she thanked fellow artist Kendrick Lamar on Instagram for agreeing to re-record the Bad Blood remix for the new release.

“Watching @kenricklamar create and record his verses on the Bad Blood remix was one of the most inspiring experiences of my life,” she wrote.

“I still look back on this collaboration with so much pride and gratitude for the way Kendrick enriched the song and the way he treated everyone around him.”

“Every time the crowd on the Eras Tour chanted his line, “You forgive, you forget, but you never let it go!” I smiled. The reality that Kendrick would go back and re-record “Bad Blood” so that I could reclaim and own this work that I am so proud of is surreal and confusing to me.”

The Eras Tour ends in 2023 from November 9th in Buenos Aires, Argentina to November 26th in Sao Paolo, Brazil.

The Anti-Hero singer was expected to miss a Kansas City Chiefs game for the first time on Sunday to watch her new boyfriend Travis Kelce, 34, take the field.

Her presence over the last month has boosted NFL ratings, but it’s unclear what will happen if she’s not in a Sky box for cutaway shots.
