Robert Card’s ex-wife and son went into hiding

Robert Card’s ex-wife and son went into hiding as the manhunt for the Maine mass murderer continued Friday.

Robert Card was finally found dead Friday evening from a gunshot wound.

Mr Card, 40, was the father of an 18-year-old son, Colby, from his marriage to Cara Lamb in 2005.

Their marriage ended in divorce two years later, according to court documents obtained by the New York Post.

Cara and Colby remained in hiding while Robert remained at large Friday and police were actively searching for him. The public safety commissioner announced Saturday that Mr. Card was found in the parking lot of the Maine Recycling Corporation in Lisbon.

His family in the spotlight?

Mr. Card’s sister told investigators that she believed he was looking for his ex-girlfriend during the killings and that the killings may have been sparked by a “domestic dispute,” the report said. ABC News.

Mr. Card may have been looking for Cara when he showed up at a restaurant and bowling alley in Lewiston on Wednesday night, killing 18 people and wounding 13.

It is unclear whether Mr. Card’s sister meant Cara or another ex-girlfriend.

According to the New York Post, Cara and Robert married on October 1, 2005 in Brunswick and filed for divorce together in 2007, citing irreconcilable differences.

An amended version of the 2013 divorce agreement included a requirement that said: “It is also ordered that all firearms in the home of either party shall remain locked up during the period when they are not in use.”

According to ABC, his now-adult son was said to be the recipient of a mysterious note that investigators discovered Thursday while executing an arrest warrant at Mr. Card’s Bowdoin home.
