ITV bosses are discussing the possibility of Strictly’s Angela Scanlon replacing Holly Willoughby on This Morning after her success on the BBC dance show.
The Irish presenter hosted The One Show and was approached by the channel’s bosses as a potential candidate to take part in the show.
An ITV source said: “Angela’s name has been mentioned and in fact she would be a great replacement for Holly.” She ticks all the boxes and has a wealth of experience.
“Plus it would get her out of Strictly High.”
Former journalist Ms Scanlon, 39, is one of the favorites to reach the Strictly final later this year and is currently presenting Your Home Made Perfect on BBC Two.

Meanwhile, ITV bosses have decided to hold live auditions to find the perfect star to replace Holly Willoughby on the This Morning sofa in the coming weeks.
As presenter Josie Gibson, 38, who hosts two to three times a week, travels to Australia to appear on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!, executives are taking the opportunity to audition for another, who takes over the show The program will be restarted in the new year.
Sources at the network say they will “test the chemistry and likeability” of a number of potential hosts.
They also say they are primarily looking for a woman as they hope to sign Ben Shephard, 48, to take over the role from Phillip Schofield in January. They had originally planned to set him up with Ms Willoughby.
