The National Hockey League (NHL) Player Safety Department announced that it has suspended Buffalo Sabers defenseman Connor Clifton for two games.
The latter delivered a blow to New Jersey Devils captain Nico Hischier in the head during the first period of the duel between the two teams on Friday evening. Clifton was also banned from the game following this review. See the gesture above.

That means he will miss the game against the Colorado Avalanche on Sunday and the trip to Philadelphia to face the Flyers on Wednesday.
This season, Clifton collected one assist in eight games and also had a -6 differential. This summer, he signed a three-year contract with the Sabers worth $3.3 million per season.
