Britney Spears says a second volume of her memoir will be released in 2024.
Volume one of The Woman in Me was released last Tuesday. Already, Spears claims, it is “the best-selling celebrity memoir in history” and is currently No. 1 on Amazon.
But apparently the 41-year-old singer has more to say. “Humor is the cure for everything!!! Keep playing!!! Volume 2 is coming out next year…get ready!!!” Spears wrote in an Instagram post on Saturday.
In his review of the book, Consequence editor Wren Graves calls “The Woman in Me” “a remarkable and powerful story of generational trauma.”
Among the revelations in volume one, Spears said she felt “infantilized” during her 13-year conservatorship. She also revealed that she had an abortion with her ex-boyfriend, Justin Timberlake, and accused the members of *NSYNC – particularly Timberlake – of “attempting.”[ing] too heavy” to suit black artists.
However, Spears said her goal in writing the tell-all book was not to “offend anyone.” “The purpose of my book was in no way to offend anyone!!!” Spears wrote in an Instagram post on Friday (October 20). “That was me back then…that’s in the past!!! I don’t like some of the headlines I read…that’s exactly why I got out of the music business four years ago!!! Most of the book is from 20 years ago…I’ve moved on and from here it’s a beautiful new beginning!!!”
