“Friends” star Matthew Perry died Saturday afternoon at his home in Pacific Palisades, according to law enforcement sources who spoke to ABC News. According to the LAPD, a call came in at 4:07 p.m. PT for a man in his 50s who was unresponsive. According to the LAPD, medical transport was not required for a call to that street after arriving at the scene of the accident. Perry was 54 years old.
Los Angeles police said they were conducting a death investigation.
According to law enforcement, there were no signs of crime at the scene. The Los Angeles County coroner will determine the cause of death.

The actor was known for his role as Chandler Bing on the hit ensemble sitcom Friends, which ran from 1994 to 2004.
“We are devastated to learn of Matthew Perry’s death. He was a true gift to all of us. Our condolences go out to his family, his loved ones and all his fans,” the verified Friends Instagram account posted on Instagram Saturday evening.
Warner Bros. Television Group, which produced “Friends,” said in a statement that it was also devastated by Perry’s death and praised him for his talents.
“Matthew was an incredibly gifted actor and an indelible part of the Warner Bros. Television Group family. The impact of his comedic genius was felt around the world, and his legacy will live on in the hearts of so many. “This is a heartbreaking day, and we send our love to his family, his loved ones and all of his loyal fans,” the statement read.

Perry also starred in the TV series “Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip” and co-created and starred in the sitcom “Mr. “Sunshine.” His film career included the films “Fools Rush In,” “Almost Heroes,” and “17 Again.”
He was nominated for a Golden Globe Award for Best Actor in a Miniseries or Television Movie for his portrayal of the titular educator in the 2006 television film The Ron Clark Story.
Perry – the son of actor, singer and model John Bennett Perry and Suzanne Langford, a press secretary for former Canadian Prime Minister Pierre Trudeau – moved from Ottawa to Los Angeles as a teenager.
After graduating from high school, he began booking roles on television shows like “Growing Pains” and “90210” before being cast on “Friends” at age 24 as the sarcastic, neurotic Chandler – and quickly becoming a star.
In “Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing,” a memoir published last year, Perry talks about struggling and overcoming years of drug and alcohol abuse behind the scenes.

He told “Good Morning America” that he hoped that speaking out would change people’s perceptions of addicts.
“There is a stigma associated with this and it needs to end,” he said.
In a “20/20” interview with Diane Sawyer last year, Perry estimated that he had undergone detoxification 65 times and been to rehab 15 times and said he almost died after being hospitalized for a ruptured colon in 2018 had been admitted to hospital.
He said his goal is to help others who are struggling.
“Because I was on Friends, of course more people will listen to me. So I have to take advantage of that and help as many people as I can,” Perry said.
