“A Hamas’ leadership built a financial empire outside the Gaza Strip about worth 700 million dollars“, says Christine Kensche, Middle East correspondent for the German newspaper Welt.
“Not a cent goes to Gaza. While its own population suffers, the leadership abroad lives in luxury. “I was able to view exclusive documents proving Hamas’s secret portfolio,” she wrote on X, formerly Twitter, hinting at her report on the subject.
According to the article, the Executives live in luxury hotels in Qatar and also in the Türkiye. Based on one of the documents, Welt notes that “the Hamas leadership has access to dozens of accounts in Turkish bankssuch as Türkiye Fina Albaraka, Kuveyt Türk, Vakif Katil and the state bank Ziraat Katilim, which are denominated in euros and US dollars. “The Deutsche Bundesbank is one of the correspondents that carries out transfers from Europe to Turkish branches,” it says Newspaper.
Apparently terrorism is essentially a transnational business. All in the name of the cause, of course.
