The no-longer-undefeated Oklahoma Sooners gave voters plenty to talk about Sunday morning ahead of the Coaches’ Poll’s updated Top 25 college football rankings. The Sooners fell from the ranks of the undefeated by failing to defeat Kansas. With Oklahoma falling 38-33 to quarterback Jason Bean and the Kansas Jayhawks, the Big 12 is officially wide open. And the debate over college football’s top four is red hot as the CFP rankings are released for the first time on Halloween night.
There was less drama for the rest of college football’s top title contenders, although four other top 25 teams suffered losses in Week 9.
Oregon State and North Carolina posted surprising losses at the end of Saturday night. The Beavers lost late last night to Arizona, while UNC lost its second straight game, this time to Georgia Tech. In Week 9, Utah also lost to Oregon and Duke lost to Louisville in a shutout.

Carson Beck three for 315 yards and two touchdowns in a 43-20 win over Florida. Daijun Edwards led all players with 96 rushing yards and two touchdowns of his own. The next stop is a top-15 matchup against Missouri.
“We knew if we could do it together we would be strong and we knew we would play winning football.” Kirby Smart said. “I feel like this team is improving. We’re getting better, but we’re still not where we need to be. But I am proud of the competitors who fought for our university today.”

Michigan was nearly unstoppable for the first two-thirds of its season. The Wolverines haven’t faced a ranked opponent yet, but that changes in November with games against Penn State and Ohio State. Statistically, Michigan averages 40.6 points per game while its defense only allows 5.9. Only Rutgers maintained a lead of less than 25 points.

Beat the Ohio State Buckeyes Luke Fickell and Wisconsin, 24-10, in Madison. TreVeyon Henderson returned magnificently with 162 rushing yards and a touchdown to lead the offense. Marvin Harrison Jr. remains one of the top offensive threats in college football. He caught six passes for 126 yards and the other two Buckeye touchdowns. Ohio State remains undefeated with a strong statement to the selection committee.

While some put the Seminoles on alert at Wake Forest, Florida State took care of business. It was a 41-16 road win for Florida State, giving it a two-night undefeated record in the first College Football Playoff rankings. Jordan Travis was responsible for four of Florida State’s five touchdowns. Trey Benson touched the ball 14 times for 155 yards and two touchdowns from scrimmage. The Seminoles are 6-0 in ACC play, with a road trip to Pittsburgh next on the agenda.

Michael Penix Jr. returned to form with a 369-yard, four-touchdown performance in a 42-33 win at Stanford. Is it good enough to finish in the top four of Tuesday’s first College Football Playoff rankings?
“Even if we won by 30%, we know that if we’re not playing at the level that we think our locker room has set, we’re going to have to do better,” Penix said. “We are never satisfied. We’re always trying to keep improving and getting better every week. So that’s our mindset.”

Maalik Murphy got the nod and delivered the quarterback with it Quinn Ewers paused due to injury. Murphy threw for 170 yards and two touchdowns in a 35-6 win over BYU. Murphy hid Adonai Mitchell three times for 59 yards and two touchdowns. As Oklahoma sinks, the race for the Big 12 Championship Game is wide open. While Texas is coming off a head-to-head loss to OU, will the overall record be enough to put the Longhorns ahead on Tuesday night?

Oregon jumped out to a two-touchdown lead in the first quarter and took care of business in Utah. The Ducks kept Utah out of the end zone with a 35-6 win. Meanwhile, Oregon reached the end zone five times. Bo Nix threw two touchdown passes and ran for a third. Bucky Irving And Traeshon Holden also ran for touchdowns in Oregon’s statement win.

The Crimson Tide could all but secure a spot in the SEC Championship Game with a win on Saturday against rival LSU. After a bye week, Alabama hosts LSU with the idea of revenge for last season. Last year’s game saw Jayden Daniels Out Slug Bryce Young in overtime for a 32-31 win for the Tigers. Marked this year Jalen Milroeis the first opportunity in the series. So far, Milroe has 1,617 passing yards, 13 touchdowns and five picks. He also has five rushing touchdowns.

The Nittany Lions fell three spots in the poll last week due to their loss to Ohio State. And now Penn State is back in the win column, but not convincingly. The Nittany Lions defeated Indiana 33-24 at Happy Valley. Drew Allar And Brendan Sorsby dueled with three touchdowns each. Allar’s 57-yard touchdown KeAndre Lambert-Smith With two minutes left in the game, Penn State took the lead for good. Penn State improves to 4-1 in conference play.

Ole Miss scored five straight first-half possessions in a 33-7 win over Vanderbilt to improve to 4-1 in SEC play. The Rebels are tied for second place in the SEC West against LSU, but are in a direct tie against the Tigers. The Rebels face Texas A&M on Saturday before a tough road trip against No. 1 Georgia on Nov. 11.

The Oklahoma Sooners are no longer undefeated. After giving up an 80-yard touchdown drive in the final minutes, Oklahoma lost 38-33 and falls to 7-1 and 4-1 in conference play. While the Jayhawls celebrate, Oklahoma awaits its placement in the debut College Football Playoff rankings. Dillon Gabriel ran for three touchdowns and threw for 171 yards in the loss. His last throw failed as he hoped for a last-second touchdown.
The Fighting Irish defeated Pittsburgh 58-7 in South Bend. Audric Estime led the offense with 114 rushing yards and three touchdowns Sam Hartman threw for 288 yards with two interceptions. The Notre Dame defense stole the show, shutting out Pitt for 255 total yards and four interceptions.

A bye week to prepare for Alabama is just the thing Brian Kelly needs with a spot in the SEC Championship Game potentially on the line. LSU crushed Army two weeks ago and spent the open weekend preparing for it Nick Saban and the Crimson Tide. The aforementioned Daniels scored three goals in an overtime win over Alabama last year. This time he looks just as dangerous.

Missouri has already exceeded many expectations in the SEC, but upcoming games against Georgia and Tennessee after last week’s open schedule will determine how big things could get. Missouri’s only loss through two thirds of the game came against a ranked LSU team. After open week, it’s time for the Tigers to take a stand.

With a 23-0 win over No. 21 Duke, Louisville improves to 4-1 in ACC play and hopes to secure a spot in the championship game and beyond. Jawhar Jordan Led Louisville’s offense with 163 rushing yards and two touchdowns against the Blue Devils’ impressive defense.

16. Tennessee (6-2) – The Vols won a dual with Kentucky 33-27 in Lexington. A Dylan Sampson The touchdown run gave Tennessee a late lead, and then the Vols finished with a nine-play drive with 4:24 to play to end the game. Tennessee hosts UConn in Knoxville on Saturday as heavy favorites.
17. Air Force (8-0) – The Falcons defeated Colorado State 30-13 and remain undefeated in conference play with a 5-0 record. Emmanuel Michel ran for 130 yards and a touchdown.
18. Utah (6-2) – The Utes couldn’t deliver. Utah lost a 35-6 contest to No. 8 Oregon. Bryson Barnes threw two picks and Sione Vaki ran just five times for 11 yards.
19. Oregon State (6-2) — Pac-12 after dark was indeed dark for the Beavers. Oregon State fell 27-24 in Arizona and suffered its second loss in conference play. Noah Fifita threw for 275 yards and three touchdowns against the Beavers’ defense.
20. UCLA (6-2) — Ethan Garbers And TJ Harden led UCLA to a 28:16 home win Deion Sanders and the Colorado Buffaloes. Garbers threw two touchdown passes. Harden ran for 78 yards and a touchdown and led all rushers.

21. Tulane (7-1) — Michael Pratt overdueled JT Daniels in a 30-28 win over Rice. Pratt finished the game with 263 passing yards, two passing touchdowns and one rushing score for the Green Wave.
22. USC (7-2) — Caleb Williams threw for 369 yards and four touchdowns in a 50-49 road win over Cal. While it counts as a comeback win for the Trojans, Cal was away from the win with a two-point conversion.
23. Kansas (6-2) – How would you not classify the six-win Jayhawks after yesterday’s 38-33 loss to previously undefeated Oklahoma?
24. James Madison (8-0) — Jordan McCloud threw for 340 yards with three touchdowns and two interceptions in a 30-27 win over Old Dominion.
25. North Carolina (6-2) – UNC suffers another brutal loss, this time a 46-42 final at Georgia Tech, likely eliminating the Tar Heels from the New Year’s Six conversation.
