NHL: Jesper Bratt in top form against the Wild

Thanks to a great Jesper Bratt, the New Jersey Devils won 4-3 against the Minnesota Wild on Sunday at the Prudential Center.

With less than four minutes left in the second period, the Devils (5-2-1) small forward completed an excellent power play move for his team by sending the puck to Marc-André Fleury’s right corner.

It was the Swede who opened the scoring and was also involved in Tyler Toffoli’s goal in the five-on-four game with 6 minutes and 10 seconds left on the clock in the middle period. However, Erik Haula’s goal 44 seconds later really hurt Dean Evason’s players, who had taken a 2-1 lead a few minutes earlier.

Note that Jack Hughes was released for the first time this season.

For the Wild, Pat Maroon had a productive night on offense. He flashed the red light for the first time this season and also received an assist on his team’s third goal.

Of the 30 shots he faced, Fleury failed four times. This defeat is the third in a row for his team, which now has a 3-4-2 system.

The Capitals do the minimum against the Sharks

The San Jose Sharks (0-8-1) will have to wait to get their first win of 2023-2024 as they lost 3-1 to the Washington Capitals (4-3-1).

David Quinn’s team scored the first goal through Luke Kunin and were in the lead until the start of the third period. However, it was the in-form among the “Caps” Dylan Strome who sparked the uprising with his sixth goal of the season.

Less than five minutes before the end of the game, Tom Wilson scored the winning goal for Washington. Alex Ovechkin and John Carlson each collected two assists in the win.

Evgeny Kuznetsov was the Capitals’ other scorer.
