Things were no different for Matthew Perry, who played Chandler Bing. The actor (28), who died this Saturday at the age of 54, had an estimated net worth of $120 million (around R$600 million), according to the American website Celebrity Net Worth.
Perry never married or had children. His closest family members are his parents, Suzanne Morrison and John Bennett Perry, and his five siblings. If there is no will that specifies the division of assets, the parents must receive the actor’s assets. This still needs to be assessed under American law.
Perry appeared in all 236 episodes of Friends between 1994 and 2004. Each member of the Friends cast earned a base salary of approximately $90 million from the show alone, before profitsharing bonuses and ongoing royalties.

As part of contract negotiations in 2000, the cast managed to demand a profit share from the show, which would allow them to receive royalties. “Friends” continues to generate more than $1 billion (approximately R$5 billion) in royalties per year. Each performer alone earns between $10 and $20 million annually in royalties (approximately between R$50 and R$100 million).
Real estate investments
Since 2011, Perry has been conducting financial transactions in real estate. This year he paid $11 million (about R$55 million) for a new beach house in Malibu. He sold this house in January 2021 for $13.1 million (approximately R$65.5 million).

In 2015, he sold another house in Malibu for $10.65 million (approximately R$53.25 million).
In 2017, Matthew spent $20 million (approximately R$100 million) to buy a penthouse in Century City, California. He sold the huge apartment for $21.6 million (approximately R$108 million).
In 2018, he sold a house in another area of Los Angeles for $12.5 million (approximately R$62.5 million).
In 2020, Matthew paid $6 million (approximately R$30 million) for a house in the Pacific Palisades neighborhood of Los Angeles.
In June 2023, he paid $5 million (about R$25 million) for a house in the Hollywood Hills, where his body was found this Saturday (28).
