247 In a broadcast this week on YouTube, renowned political analyst Pepe Escobar shared his insights into the global geopolitical situation, which is currently facing profound change. In the live broadcast, Pepe discussed the striking contrast between the socalled “forever wars” and the growing integration of the global south, led by China and Russia.

The video, which lasted about half an hour, was broadcast directly from Thailand, where Pepe Escobar lives, and began with a warm welcome to his audience, not only in Brazil but throughout the Portuguesespeaking world.

Pepe Escobar expressed his desire to take his supporters to a spectacular cafe or bar in Thailand, but regretted that the weather was not favorable for an outing at this time. However, the focus of their discussion soon became clear: the significant changes in global geopolitics.

He discussed the difference between today’s dynamics characterized by the integration of the Global South and what he called the “Forever Wars” dynamics, which he believes are leading the Western world to a dangerous crossroads.

Pepe Escobar noted that he did not attend a recent summit in China because bureaucratic restrictions restricted his freedom of movement and communication with other participants. However, he expressed his commitment to closely following developments at the Belt and Road Forum in Beijing, where China is leading a project to integrate Eurasia, Africa and Latin America.

He mentioned the Silk Road land corridors and planned links that aim to boost connectivity, sustainable development and infrastructure investment on a monumental scale, with around $1 trillion invested in the last decade.

The analyst stressed the importance of this project to counter Western dominance based on an international order that, in his view, lacks a solid historical and conceptual basis. He explained that this order was based on the “forever wars,” which he said had caused the deaths of thousands of people around the world, especially in Islamic countries.

He also discussed the growing strategic alliance between Russia, China and Iran and highlighted Iran’s changing attitude towards these countries following the United States’ withdrawal from the nuclear deal.

The analyst expressed hope that the growing resistance to conflict and the desire for an alternative to Western rule could give hope to the global south, especially the Palestinians and the Arab world, who now have the opportunity to come together and seek justice.

Concluding his analysis, Pepe Escobar emphasized that the integration project led by China and Russia is a direct response to the lack of responses from the West in the face of increasingly fierce global competition. He believes that the geopolitical future is moving towards a battle of paradigms in which the unity of the Global South could be the key to a development that defies imperial logic.

In a rapidly changing world, the ideas presented by Pepe Escobar underline the need for reflection on the role and future of international and geopolitical relations. Regard:
