Artificial intelligence is not ready to leave our lives. Identifying images generated using AI is also an important issue, especially to curb misinformation. Google has just launched a very useful tool for this.
To give users accurate information about the origin of images found in Google Images, the tech giant has added an “About this image” section. An icon with three small dots is available in the photo options. The latter offers three new ways to find out about the image you have found:
- L’Picture storyto see which website the image was first seen on. Google explains that this feature can be useful when “an image is taken out of context and shared in relation to a recent event, even though it is actually much older.”
- L’Use and description of the imageto find out how the content is used by the platforms that use it. “This information can be useful for evaluating claims about an image and seeing evidence and perspectives from other sources,” Google says.
- THE Image metadatato know the creator and publisher of the image. We also learn about the presence of “fields that could indicate that it was created or enhanced by AI.”
As a reminder, a Google tool called Generative AI will soon make it possible to generate images using artificial intelligence – like Midjourney, Bing Chat or Adobe.
In addition to Bard finally carving out a place in Google Assistant, artificial intelligence continues to drive Google’s services forward. The latest news was that the American company had introduced new AI-based features in Maps.
