Paltrow recalled kissing Perry “in a field of tall grass” during a “magical summer.” “I met Matthew Perry at the Williamstown Theater Festival in Massachusetts in 1993. We were both there most of the summer doing plays. He was so funny and so sweet and so much fun to be with. We went out to swim in creeks, drank beer at the local college bar, and kissed in a field of tall grass,” Paltrow, who briefly dated Perryf in 1994, wrote in an Instagram post alongside a photo of Perry .
She added: “It was a magical summer. He had filmed the pilot of “Friends,” but it hadn’t aired yet. He was nervous and hopeful that his big break was imminent. It was. We remained friends for a while until we broke up, but I was always happy to see him when I did. I’m super sad today, like so many of us. I hope Matthew is finally at peace. I really do.”
