Israel: We are strengthening our operations inside the Gaza Strip
Israeli troops continue to increase their operations in the Gaza Strip. The military spokesman said that “dozens of terrorists who had holed up in buildings and tunnels to attack the soldiers were killed during the night.” “In one collision – he added – a plane piloted by ground troops hit a training area in a building with over 20 Hamas terrorists.” Over 600 targets have been hit in the last few days.
Among the targets hit were “weapons depots, dozens of launch stations for anti-tank missiles, underground hideouts and Hamas training areas,” the spokesman emphasized. Last night – he added – the troops “identified armed terrorists and an anti-tank missile launch site in the area of Al-Azhar University and then directed a fighter jet that hit them.”

Meanwhile, explosions were reported on Sunday at a US base in the Shaddadi area of Syria’s northeastern Hasakah province, as Israeli military operations continued against Hamas in Gaza.

Erez border crossing, north of the Gaza Strip. A group of Hamas militants emerge from one of the tunnels that have not yet been destroyed by Israeli bombing. They are trying to surprise the Jewish state’s army and kill the soldiers who have been intensifying ground operations for two days. The reconstruction is carried out by the IDF (Israeli Defense Forces): our troops “killed numerous Palestinian terrorists and injured others.”
INSIGHTS
The IDF added: “Many other Palestinian gunmen were eliminated in nearby battles.”
Ground troops ordered the air force to carry out drone strikes against two Hamas bases, killing several officers.” Hamas responded with mortars and ambushes.
FLAG
In a video showing the ground advance that allowed the Israelis to advance nearly four kilometers, the Merkava III tanks can be seen advancing in a line and spreading smoke, a fog designed to obscure the soldiers of the to conceal infantry moving on foot alongside them.
Another video shows soldiers hoisting an Israeli flag on the roof of a hotel in Gaza. In the audio we hear: “The soldiers of the 52nd Battalion of the 401st Brigade wave the Israeli flag in the heart of Gaza, near the beach. “We will not forgive, we will not forget, we will not stop until victory.”
Here they are, some impressions from the war that is shaking the Gaza Strip and causing casualties and suffering among the civilian population. According to Save the Children, the latest data published by the Palestinian Ministry of Health puts the number of deaths at 8,000, 40 percent of which are minors. Over 300 Israeli soldiers have died since October 7th. “Israel has crossed the red lines in Gaza, it could force everyone to act,” threatens Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi from Tehran. Israel is keeping its attention in the north, on the border with Lebanon, because Hezbollah’s rocket fires are increasing: the organization is supported by Iran and has targeted an Israeli military base in the Upper Galilee. In the late afternoon, the Jewish state’s army responded with raids in Lebanon after a total of ten rockets fell in the north (more arrived from Syria in the evening).
DANGER
The Washington Post publishes a backstory that explains why Hezbollah is taking an overall cautious or at least less active position for now compared to Hamas’ hopes: The government of Lebanon, a country in enormous social and economic trouble, which is basically in Defaulting on payments puts pressure on the Scythian militia not to contribute to the expansion of a conflict that would be untenable for Beirut.
Yesterday a demonstration with around a hundred pro-Hamas and pro-Hezbollah supporters took place in the Lebanese capital. And on Friday, Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah will give a televised speech. Also in Lebanon, two mortar shells hit a Unifil base (United Nations mission) near the town of Houla on Saturday evening: a Nepalese peacekeeper was injured. “The peacekeeper sustained minor injuries and was immediately evacuated to the hospital at Unifil headquarters in Naqoura,” the mission added on social media X (formerly Twitter). “He is in stable condition.” Meanwhile, Jordan has called on Washington to deploy Patriot air defense systems to bolster border defenses.
At the end of the day, IDF Chief of Staff Herzi Halevi addresses the soldiers and explains: “This war will be a long process and now we are in the phase where we are hitting the enemy hard, inside and outside the entrance to the Gaza Strip . We are only focused on one thing: victory, the destruction of Hamas, we have to hit as many enemy commanders as possible, as many enemy fighters as possible, as much enemy infrastructure as possible.”
FRONTS
To sum it up again: In the north the situation is getting worse, from the south, i.e. from the Gaza Strip, Hamas continues to fire rockets cyclically against Israeli citizens and always keeps the tension high. In the northern part of the Gaza Strip, the IDF’s systematic land advance is taking place, building by building and street by street, aimed at tracking down Hamas terrorists and dismantling the positions from which the rockets are fired. The other objective is to free the 239 hostages (the number has been updated again) who are probably hidden in the tunnels, but there are no results on this yet. However, the bombings do not stop and claim most of the victims among the civilian population. The IDF has requested the evacuation of Al-Quds Hospital in Gaza City for security reasons as the area has become a zone of military operations.
RED CRESCENT MOON
“Israeli occupation forces continue to fire targeted rockets around the Al-Quds Hospital to force medical staff, patients and displaced people to evacuate the building.” This caused significant damage to the hospital departments and people and patients were suffocated by the smoke,” complains the Palestinian Red Crescent, which released a video of the damaged wards and stated that there were at least 500 patients in the facility and that they were not hidden by Hamas militants.
