The searches took place in the morning in the area of Rue Notre-Dame Est, opposite the Wayagamac factory, where authorities located Pierre Couture’s kayak after receiving information on the subject.
Since then, patrol officers have focused on combing the banks near where the boat was found.
Pierre Couture, 65, put his kayak in the water at the Maïkan Aventure outdoor center around 1:30 p.m. last Thursday. He hasn’t been seen since. A complaint of enforced disappearance was officially filed on Friday evening.
The sixty-year-old is 1.85 m tall. When he left the Maïkan he was wearing a wetsuit, a long-sleeved orange sweater and a life jacket, also orange.
Anyone who can provide information about locating Mr. Couture is asked to contact police at (819) 691-2929 #6.
