Betty Faria was present at the graduation ceremony of her granddaughter, Giulia Butler, who completed her cinema studies at the PUC Rio in Gávea, in the southern zone of the city. The 20yearold girl showed a minutes of the meeting and celebrated the company of her family:

Alexandra Marzo, the new filmmaker’s mother, was missing from the photo. The episode is drawing attention because a family dispute recently came to light. Alexandra shared on social media that she grew up in a “toxic family” and that her mother was a narcissist. 55yearold Alexandra also criticized Betty Faria’s interference in her granddaughter’s upbringing. She said her mother took Giulia there at night in 2012 when she was a minor.
“I remained silent for a long time in the face of the injustices and slanders that my mother expressed in court and in the press. Since 2012 I have experienced unspeakable and immense suffering. I was born into a toxic, extremely dysfunctional family.”
Giulia Butler recently graduated and has already made good progress in her audiovisual career. As a third assistant director, she worked on the feature film “Bury Your Dead”, the Portuguese film “Justa” and the series “Codex 632”, inspired by the bestseller of the same name by the Portuguese journalist José Rodrigues dos Santos. In the latter, Betty Faria is in the cast.
