Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ruled out this Monday (30) a ceasefire in the war in the Gaza Strip, which, in his opinion, would mean a “surrender to Hamas”.

“Calls for a ceasefire are calls for Israel to surrender to Hamas. “That will not happen,” Netanyahu said at a press conference in Tel Aviv. He called on the international community to demand the “immediate and unconditional” release of hostages held by the terrorist movement in Gaza.

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) had previously announced the rescue of soldier Ori Megidish during a land attack in the Gaza Strip this Monday.

The soldier was kidnapped by Hamas terrorists on October 7 during the surprise attack on Israeli territory.

In a joint statement, the IDF and Israel’s Shin Bet security service said the soldier was in good health and had already met with her family.

According to Israel, more than 230 people are in Hamas captivity.

In the final three weeks of the war, only four hostages were freed: two Americans and two elderly Israeli women.
