“The building is shaking and the displaced civilians and work teams are feeling fear and panic,” he added.
The Red Crescent had already reported shelling in this area on Sunday night.
The hospital director told AFP that he had received an evacuation order from the Israeli army.

The head of the World Health Organization (WHO) called the call “deeply worrying” and said it was impossible to evacuate a hospital without endangering patients’ lives.
The health center also houses 14,000 people seeking refuge from Israeli attacks, according to the Red Crescent.
Israel has repeatedly accused Hamas of using hospitals to hide weapons and fighters, something the Palestinian Islamist movement categorically denies.

Hamas commandos entered Israel from Gaza on October 7, carrying out the bloodiest attack since the founding of the Jewish state in 1948. In retaliation, Israel launched relentless bombings and ground fighting in the Gaza Strip.
Thousands of civilians have died on both fronts since the conflict began.
