Benjamin Netanyahu ruled out a ceasefire on Monday, a decision he said would constitute a “surrender to Hamas.” Shortly before, the Israeli prime minister had declared that the army was advancing in the Gaza Strip “methodically, step by step.”
• The Israeli army says it has struck “600 targets” in the Gaza Strip, weapons depots, anti-tank missile launch sites and Hamas hideouts in the last 24 hours. Hamas’ military wing said it fired anti-tank grenades at “two armored vehicles” belonging to the Israeli army involved in the raid.
• Hamas released a video depicting three of the 239 women it was holding as hostages. One of them is calling on the Israeli prime minister to conclude a prisoner exchange with the Islamist movement to secure their release. Benjamin Netanyahu called the video “cruel psychological propaganda.”
• The Israeli army announced that it had released a soldier who had been held hostage during a ground operation in the Gaza Strip.
• Five Palestinians were killed in Israeli army raids in the occupied West Bank on Monday, according to the Palestinian Authority Health Ministry and the Israeli army.
• A new Hamas figure shows 8,306 dead, including 3,457 children and 2,136 women, and more than 21,000 wounded since the war began – a figure that cannot be independently verified. According to Israeli authorities, more than 1,400 people, mostly civilians, were killed in the October 7 attack in Israel.
