The Israeli army said on Tuesday it had carried out airstrikes in Lebanon against the Shiite movement Hezbollah, a Hamas ally. The Palestinian Red Crescent was alarmed by attacks near one of its hospitals in northern Gaza, where civilians were taking refuge to protect themselves from Israeli bombardment.   • Benjamin Netanyahu ruled out a ceasefire on Monday, a decision he said would constitute a “surrender to Hamas.” Shortly before, the Israeli prime minister had declared that the army was advancing in the Gaza Strip “methodically, step by step.”

    • Five Palestinians were killed in Israeli army raids in the occupied West Bank on Monday, according to the Palestinian Authority Health Ministry and the Israeli army.

    • A new Hamas figure shows 8,306 dead, including 3,457 children and 2,136 women, and more than 21,000 wounded since the war began – a figure that cannot be independently verified. According to Israeli authorities, more than 1,400 people, mostly civilians, were killed in the October 7 attack in Israel.
