The United Nations Environment Program on Monday honored China’s Blue Circle environmental initiative with the Champions of the Earth 2023 Award, the United Nations’ most prestigious environmental honor, for its innovative technology to treat marine plastics.

To date, it has successfully collected more than 10,700 tons of marine debris, becoming China’s largest marine plastic waste program.

And it is the result of the collaboration of more than 6,000 individuals and more than 200 companies in east China’s Zhejiang Province.
