“It is clear that we have concerns in these areas,” said Michel Beaudoin, CEO of the Régie du logement du Québec (RBQ), in an interview with Le Journal last Friday, before the government announced the accelerated training Monday.

“I think that together we can achieve better and better quality,” he admitted.

The RBQ’s mission is to protect the public by contributing to “the quality and safety of buildings and facilities.” The organization must focus on “qualifying contractors and builders.”

According to his number 1, Michel Beaudoin, we must “do more”. The latter says he wants to team up with engineers and architects in order to be able to work better together with them. He is convinced that all players in the industry must work together.

“For example, in Quebec there are 30,000 technologists. Why don’t you use them to help us? ‘ he asked himself out loud.

Boulet is calming

For his part, in an interview with 98.5 the day after the accelerated training was announced, Labor Minister Jean Boulet claimed that his accelerated training of construction workers would help improve the quality of buildings.

“There is also a review of the construction site inspection model, which is being carried out under the supervision of the Régie du Logement du Québec (RBQ),” he explained.
