Surprise! Devastated by an illness that has forced her to stay away from the spotlight since the pandemic hit, Celine Dion made a rare and reassuring appearance in the Montreal Canadiens locker room after their game against the Golden Knights in Las Vegas on Monday night.

She had not shown any sign of life since announcing in December 2022 that she was suffering from stiff person syndrome.
“From the great attendance at our game yesterday in Vegas. Thank you, Celine Dion, for your generosity. “The whole team was very happy to meet you and your family,” wrote CH Vice President of Communications Chantal Machabée under a photo of herself with the diva that she published on her Instagram page.
The picture of the two smiling women, in which the singer appears to be looking good, sparked a flood of enthusiastic reactions.
Stars including Charlotte Cardin, Jeanick Fournier and Julie Dupage liked and/or commented on the post, which had racked up more than 6,500 likes by midday.
“Finally a real photo,” exclaimed one admirer, as everyone was happy to see Céline in good shape again and thanked Chantal Machabée for publishing the photo.
Her sister Claudette, contacted by the Journal, was unaware of this photo but clarified that Céline had told them “not to worry” when they last spoke. »
Martin St-Louis impressed
This surprise visit was an initiative of the singer, Ms. Machabée confirmed to the Journal.
During her few minutes in the CH locker room, Céline Dion met some players and head coach Martin St-Louis.
“I was happy to shake her hand and congratulate her personally,” said the Canadiens pilot. He is an inspiring person. She was 14 when she sang “A Dove for the Pope” at the Olympic Stadium. I didn’t know her very well back then. It is special how far she has come in her field. »
Looking for trends
The news was apparently picked up by several international media and gossip sites.
In France, Gala and Voici publish the information on the front page of their website. Gala paid particular attention to the star’s clothing, saying she was “always on the lookout for the latest trends.”
Is this public appearance a sign that Céline Dion is actually feeling better and will be able to return to work soon? The future will show.
