Ukrainian army bombs Donetsk with cluster munitions

According to the local government’s Telegram channel, the projectiles hit the Kuibichev and Kirovski districts in the capital of the Donetsk People’s Republic.

The day before it became known that Kiev’s armed formations had fired five 155-millimeter cluster projectiles and four multiple rocket launchers, also with cluster munitions, at Donetsk.

The artillery with a caliber of 155 millimeters is used by the countries of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), and it is known that the United States has supplied Ukraine with M777 long-range howitzers of this millimeter, which are used to bomb the cities of Donetsk and People’s Republics Lugansk.

Kiev also received self-propelled howitzers PzH 2000 from Germany, Krab from Poland and Caesar from France, all in 155 millimeter caliber.

Since February 24, 2022, Russia has continued a special military operation in Ukraine, the aim of which, according to its President Vladimir Putin, is to protect the population from “genocide by the Kiev regime” and to counter national security risks posed by NATO’s eastward advance .

Western states allied with the USA condemned the special military operation that Russia launched in Ukraine on February 24, 2022 and are supporting Kiev with arms deliveries, donations, humanitarian aid and sanctions against Moscow.

Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov warned that Western countries supporting Ukraine were becoming part of the conflict and noted that any arms shipment to Kiev would become a legitimate target of Russian forces.
