Mathieu Bonneau, 38, was arrested on October 27 by Laval Police Service (SPL) agents who received assistance from colleagues from the Quebec City Police Service (SPVQ).
The crimes the suspect is accused of are said to have taken place in recent years. Although he lives in Quebec, Mathieu Bonneau is alleged to have sexually touched minors during visits to Laval, according to Laval police.
The suspect has been a teacher in the Quebec region for more than a decade and investigators believe he may have caused additional casualties. You are asked to contact the police.
Mathieu Bonneau is specifically accused of sexual touching of a person under the age of 16 and sexual assault. After his court appearance, he was released but must comply with certain conditions.
His case will be returned to Quebec court on December 19.
As several victims were identified, the Serial Crime Investigations Management Structure (GECS), coordinated by the Sûreté du Québec (SQ), was deployed.
