REPORTING – Around Gaza, the Brother in Arms Association, in coordination with the army, is deploying hundreds of volunteers to kibbutzim and abandoned fields.
On the road to Saad, a kibbutz attacked by Hamas on October 7, the light of dawn shines on the fog that hangs over the plain. In a faint halo you can see the tractors abandoned on the edge of the fields and the half-buried artillery positions overlooking the Gaza Strip, 4 or 5 kilometers away. Since October 7, farm machinery has given way to M109 guns and the fields have been deserted by their workers. Army roadblocks line up, soldiers block the passage. The area has been declared a “military zone” and travel is now strictly regulated.
Saad is 4 kilometers from Gaza. At dawn on October 7, Hamas terrorists attacked the kibbutz but failed to capture it. The command clashed with the kibbutz’s volunteer security service, which repelled the attack. Faced with the strength of the resistance, the Hamas fighters turned back and joined their “brothers.”
