There were fierce clashes between Israeli soldiers and Hamas fighters in the northern Gaza Strip last night. The armed wing of the Islamic organization that governs the Gaza Strip, the Al-Qassam Brigades, reported clashes in the northwest of the coastal strip.
Al-Qassam Brigades attacked soldiers there and southeast of Gaza City with anti-tank grenades. The Israeli army said that overnight soldiers encountered terrorist cells which they attacked with anti-tank missiles, explosive devices and hand grenades. According to the army, there were long battles in which soldiers received support from artillery and the air force.
“Dozens of terrorists” were killed. Hamas’ infrastructure was also destroyed. The military has not provided any information about possible injuries or casualties within its own ranks in the recent fighting.
New aid deliveries arrive in Gaza
Meanwhile, another 55 trucks carrying urgently needed humanitarian aid supplies arrived in the Gaza Strip. The Palestinian Red Crescent said it brought water, food and medicine from Egypt across the border.
This means that a total of 272 trucks have arrived in the isolated coastal area since the start of the war between Israel and Hamas.
