“Succession” star Alan Ruck involved in Hollywood pizzeria accident

HOLLYWOOD, LOS ANGELES (KABC) — “Succession” and “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off” actor Alan Ruck was reportedly involved in a multi-car collision in Hollywood on Tuesday, in which his truck crashed into a pizzeria.

The footage appeared to show Ruck talking on his cell phone at the scene of the accident.

Shortly after 9 p.m. Tuesday, multiple callers reported a multi-vehicle accident, one of which crashed into a building in the 1600 block of La Brea Avenue, a Los Angeles Police Department spokesman said.

News video from the scene showed the front end of the truck plowing into the building housing Raffallo’s Pizza, near the intersection of La Brea and Hollywood Boulevard. Two badly damaged sedans could be seen in the middle of the intersection; One of them appeared to have been hit from behind before crashing into the driver’s side of the other car.

The Los Angeles Fire Department said a 32-year-old man was taken to a hospital in unknown condition. The LAPD spokesman said an ambulance was requested for two people: a 40-year-old woman who complained of pain in her arm and a 25-year-old man who suffered unknown injuries.

According to the LAPD, a police report was filed at the scene. No citations or arrests have been announced.

The city fire department’s search and rescue team examined the building and truck before attaching the rear of the vehicle to a chain and pulling it out of the building. Officials from the Ministry of Construction and Safety were also at the scene of the crash to determine the condition of the building for occupancy, the fire department said.

It is unclear whether drugs or alcohol played a role in the collision, police said. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

Alan Ruck’s acting career in film and television dates back to the 1980s. His best-known roles include Cameron Frye in 1986’s “Ferris Bueller’s Day Off,” Stuart Bondek in the series “Spin City,” and Connor Roy in HBO’s “Succession.”
