The 57yearold presenter spoke about the trauma she and the businessman faced after the robbery, which saw Gustavo fall into a seven meter high ditch.
“Ten days ago our lives changed. One moment I was so close to home that I was already thinking about the taste of the pizza we always order on Sunday evenings. The next moment I was back on the road, unsure and desperate to find the place where my husband was robbed on a motorcycle and had an accident while trying to escape,” she began.
“We have been on a rollercoaster of emotions since then. The traumas the physical one he suffered and the emotional one that affected both of us have thrown us up and down, sometimes within a matter of hours and with the same intensity. Today we are going home. It will be weeks of recovery but we are optimistic and grateful and that is all I take from here,” he continued.
“Never in my entire life have I been hit by such a strong wave of love and solidarity. With Gustavo’s phone turned off, there wasn’t a day when I didn’t have dozens and dozens of messages from friends to respond to. There wasn’t a day when he didn’t receive a visit full of affection and good energy. Only those who brought good and good came to this sick room. And to this group I include the doctors, nurses… our Many thanks to all of you to whom they have given gifts in some way, also to all of you who we do not even know but who have sent their good thoughts in our direction . We went into this new life with the certainty that here we are. Love also heals,” he concluded.
