Isle of Wight Festival 2024: Who’s playing, how to get tickets and everything you need to know before the weekend

The Isle of Wight Festival has announced the line-up for its 2024 edition, which will take place at the end of June.

The iconic festival, presented by Barclaycard, welcomes music lovers once again to Seaclose Park in Newport.

This year The Prodigy, Pet Shop Boys and Green Day will headline the historic island event.

And as the festival prepares to welcome over 50,000 fans once again, here’s everything you need to know about the weekend.

When is the Isle of Wight Festival?

The Isle of Wight Festival takes place at Seaclose Park, Newport on the weekend of June 20-23, 2024.

Who are the main music acts?

Headlining the main stage on Friday evening is legendary English electronic group The Prodigy.

On Saturday, Pet Shop Boys will headline the main stage with “DREAMWORLD The Greatest Hits Live.”

The legendary duo will perform tracks from their extensive and acclaimed catalog, which has earned them 22 top 10 singles in the UK, an Outstanding Contribution To Music Award at the 2009 BRIT Awards and more.

American rock heroes and one of the world’s best-selling artists, Green Day, will close the festival’s main stage on Sunday evening.

The five-time Grammy winners and Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees, whose acclaimed catalog has seen the band sell over 75 million copies worldwide, will celebrate the 30th anniversary of their iconic album Dookie and the 20th anniversary of American Idiot at the festival.

Over the weekend, festival goers can also expect performances from Scouting For Girls, Zara Larsson, McFly and Nothing But Thieves.

Festival organizer John Giddings said: “We’re delighted to announce our 2024 headliners today and continue to showcase a really exciting range of talent for next year’s festival.”

Last year headliners Robbie Williams, Pulp and George Ezra were guests at Seaclose Park.

Where can I get tickets?

Weekend tickets cost £269.95, with camping or glamping options available to participants.

Tickets go on general sale from November 6th at 9am GMT at www.isleofwightfestival.com.

How to travel to the festival

Big Green Coach is once again the official bus travel partner of the Isle of Wight Festival 2024 and all bus services are carbon neutral.

All you need to do is head to one of the four mainland ferry ports in Southampton, Portsmouth, Lymington or Southsea.

After a short crossing you reach the island and in no time you are at Barclaycard presents the Isle of Wight Festival.

Shuttle buses transport festival-goers to and from the island’s main ports and cities.

About the Isle of Wight Festival

The Isle of Wight Festival began a series of festivals between 1968 and 1970, widely regarded as Europe’s equivalent of Woodstock.

There was no Isle of Wight Festival between 1970 and 2002, but John Giddings, an established music promoter, took the opportunity to relaunch it.

Since 2002, the Isle of Wight Festival’s stages have hosted bands such as The Rolling Stones, Muse, Foo Fighters, Kasabian, Kings of Leon, The Strokes, Coldplay, The Sex Pistols, Fleetwood Mac, The Police, Blondie and Red Hot Chilli Peppers Guest .

Additionally, there have been solo performances from David Bowie, Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney, Jay-Z and Amy Winehouse over the years.
