Health authorities said the fatalities included 3,760 minors, 2,326 women and 135 health professionals, while 16 hospitals were out of service.

In turn, the number of reported deaths as a result of the bombings in the Yabalia refugee camp in northern Gaza rose to 195, while 777 were reported injured.

However, health sources raised the possibility that the number of deaths will increase as at least 120 people remain missing under the rubble.

At the same time, the Rafah border crossing between Egypt and Gaza will be reopened on this day to allow the transfer of dozens of injured people and 600 foreigners or Palestinians with dual nationality.

For its part, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) reported that the forces are continuing ground operations in the Gaza Strip, where there have been clashes with Hamas.

This Monday, the director of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), Philippe Lazzarini, pointed out that 70 percent of those killed in Gaza were children and women.

The spokesman for the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), James Elder, also emphasized that the Gaza Strip had become “a children’s cemetery”.
