Brooke Shield, 58, suffered a medical emergency in September that sent her to the hospital.

Days before her debut at Café Carlyle, the star fell “headfirst into a wall” before suffering a grand mal seizure, also known as a tonic-clonic seizure, outside a restaurant in New York.

“I was waiting for an Uber. When I got to the bottom of the stairs I started to look strange, and [les personnes autour] “They asked me, ‘Are you OK?'” Brooke Shield recalled in an interview with Glamour.

“I enter the L’Artusi restaurant […], two women come towards me, I don’t know them. Everything goes black,” she continues. “My hands fall to the side and I crash headfirst into the wall. I had a grand mal seizure.”

Brooke Shield then revealed that actor Bradley Cooper rushed to her side during the crisis. “My mouth started foaming, I was completely blue and almost swallowed my tongue,” she explained. “The last thing I remember is being taken into an ambulance. I have oxygen. And Bradley Cooper is sitting next to me and holding my hand.”

Brooke Shield said the A Star Is Born actor was called because he was nearby and no one could reach her husband Chris Henchy. “He came and someone called the ambulance. It was like I went in with Jesus,” she remembers.

The Blue Lagoon star’s doctors told her she was drinking too much water and asked if she had enough salt in her diet. Brooke Shield has now fully recovered and was able to premiere her one-woman show on September 12th.
