An American woman who hid under corpses to survive Hamas’ surprise attack on an Israeli music festival said she was afraid of the pro-Palestinian protests on college campuses after several incidents escalated into anti-Semitic incidents.

Lee Sasi, 25, is back in Los Angeles, where she is struggling to overcome what she endured on October 7 when she faced rising anti-Semitism on college campuses across the United States.

She said she was concerned about “all the protests and rallies that are happening at universities,” saying “it’s really scary” in an interview with News Nation’s Chris Cuomo on Thursday.

“And especially what I’ve been through, especially now more than ever, there should be no hate in this world,” Sasi said.

In recent weeks, Jewish students across the United States have reported feeling unsafe amid pro-Palestinian protests.

A girl at the University of Washington burst into tears as hundreds of her fellow students staged a “Day of Resistance” rally for Palestinians — advertised with an image of a paraglider like the one used by Hamas terrorists who massacred festival-goers.

“They want our people dead. “They want us killed,” she sobbed to a school official who said in a video posted online that he could do nothing as hundreds clapped and beat drums.

At Cooper Union last week, a group of Jewish students barricaded themselves in a library as pro-Palestinian protesters passed through security and aggressively banged on the building’s doors.

At George Washington University, just blocks from the White House and the State Department, student activists projected the words “Glory to our martyrs” and “Free Palestine from the river to the sea” onto the school’s Gelman Library, named after a Jewish couple is named.

And at Harvard, a video posted online showed a Harvard University student being attacked by pro-Palestinian protesters on the Ivy League campus, shouting, “Shame, shame, shame.”

“You know, it’s really scary,” Sasi said of the demonstrations, “and I just want peace for everyone.”

But she was “grateful to be alive and living this beautiful life,” she said after being rescued from an Israeli bomb shelter where she hid for seven hours as Hamas terrorists continued their attack on October 7.

She was one of just 10 people to survive the horrific attack by hiding under corpses for hours – even though more than 30 people had entered the bomb shelter for cover, according to messages she sent to a friend shared with i24news. Reporter Natasha Raquel Kirtchuk shared Gutman on Instagram.

Sasi shared the horror she faced on Thursday and said she decided to turn to her faith.

“I shouted to Hashem, which is our image of God, and I shouted at him and told him that when I come out, I will dedicate my life to Hashem, be closer to God and keep Shabbat,” she said.

She said she has kept that promise ever since: “And I feel Hashem around me and I feel that presence and I am so grateful and I will always say thank you to Hashem.”
