After 18 years at the helm of ADISQ, Louis-José Houde is saying goodbye. “It’s been a wonderful creative and celebratory adventure, but it’s time to pass the torch,” the comedian wrote on his Facebook page on Thursday.

Louis-José Houde therefore describes this 18th gala as “his last” … but still leaves the door open.
“Since I started as a presenter, musical styles have had time to go out of fashion and come back again. “I need a break,” he wrote. It’s probably just a farewell and not a farewell. Maybe one day I’ll go back, but at the moment, with Émile Bilodeau all grown up, everything is happening too quickly. I also want more time for my shows, my personal projects, especially since I often cook over indirect heat, which takes longer. »
He said that as a music lover, he was happy to have hosted this gala dedicated to Quebec music for so long.
“Relatives ask me why I don’t surrender at 20. Because 20 years would blow things up. Eighteen is a quick passage…”
In a press release, ADISQ and Radio-Canada said they were informed by the presenter several months ago. The ADISQ team would like to thank Louis-Josée Houde for hosting these 18 ceremonies – “unprecedented in the history of galas”.
“Louis-José was able to mark our event in such a way that he created the model for the success of a gala,” emphasized Jean-François Renaud, President of ADISQ.
“We will certainly be inspired by his legacy to continue celebrating our artists in the way he did so well for almost two decades,” said Eve Paré, ADISQ Director General.
Louis-José Houde’s final gala will take place live on ICI TÉLÉ and ICI TOU.TV on Sunday from 8 p.m.
