A new bride was stunned when one of her friends demanded to come to her wedding with her dog Max, who was considered a full member of the family.
“Lisa recently asked me if she could bring Max to my wedding. “She told me that he was part of her family and that she couldn’t imagine leaving him alone all day,” the new bride shared on Reddit.
Although she explained that the ceremony location was off-limits to animals and regretted that she couldn’t invite the dog, the guest took great offense to her refusal, Indy100, a subsidiary of The Independent, reported.
“I explained that no animals are allowed in our venue and that it is a formal event,” the 28-year-old said in her message, which went viral on the community platform.
“We have many guests who may not be comfortable with dogs, and I don’t want any potential disruptions during the ceremony or reception,” she explained.
Through persuasion, the 28-year-old young woman finally found a compromise with the German Shepherd’s owner by allowing Max’s presence at a specially organized small reception the day before the wedding.
