Astana, November 3 (Prensa Latina) Kazakhstan will provide $1 million in humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people, the Central Asian country’s President Kasym-Zhomart Tokáyev announced today.
The president, who spoke at the summit of the Organization of Turkish States this Friday, pointed out that the victims of the confrontation were the civilian population in the Gaza Strip, especially children and the elderly, according to the Kazakh Pravda newspaper.
“The main task is to ensure their safety. “With this in mind, I have decided to provide the Palestinian people with humanitarian aid worth one million dollars,” said the Kazakh leader.
Tokáyev pointed out that it is absolutely unacceptable to use violence and terrorist attacks to solve urgent problems that have not been solved for decades.
“Kazakhstan strongly condemns such methods. Exacerbation of the situation can have serious consequences. In this sense, we advocate resolving any conflict exclusively through peaceful negotiations and diplomatic dialogue,” he added.
Preserving the territorial integrity of all states and non-interference in their internal affairs are fundamental priorities for us. “It is important to strictly comply with UN Security Council resolutions and respect the norms of international law,” the President stressed.
Tokáyev added: “We are now living in a complicated situation. The conflict between Russia and Ukraine continues in the north, between Israel and Palestine in the Middle East. Instability continues in Afghanistan and the problem of illegal immigration is worsening in the West.
According to the Kazakh leader, today it is more important than ever for Turkish states to come together to face challenges and threats, support each other and take effective joint actions.
“It is planned that at the end of the summit important decisions will be made and several documents will be signed. I am sure that they will make a great contribution to the development of interaction in the region and further strengthen the image of the organization,” Tokayev summarized .
