A new report claims Michael Clarke will keep his radio job following his disastrous interview with A Current Affair last week.
The former Australian cricket captain, 42, will continue to co-host the radio show Big Sports Breakfast, The Daily Telegraph reported on Friday.
A spokesman for Tabcorp told the newspaper that the company had no plans to drop the athlete.
“Michael is an important part of the Big Sports Breakfast and we are working with his management on a contract extension,” the Tabcorp spokesman said.
“Viewings have increased since Michael joined – Big Sports Breakfast is Australia’s most popular sports radio show.” “Michael is a big part of the TAB family and we’re keen to do more with him.”
A new report claims Michael Clarke (pictured) will keep his radio job after his interview with A Current Affair fell through last week
It was previously claimed that industry insiders were pushing Clarke to bring in a new manager following ACA’s disastrous performance last month.
Michael sat down with the Nine network program to develop a new product from the Australian bitters company.
Instead, Clarke was peppered with questions about the infamous Noosa scuffle involving his girlfriend Jade Yarbrough, who repeatedly called in her brother-in-law, Today show host Karl Stefanovic.
Now sources reveal that Clarke went against the advice of experts who had warned him not to do the interview with the news show.

“Clarkey doesn’t have an agent or publicist guiding him at the moment and it shows,” an insider told the Daily Telegraph.
“He should never have done ACA to promote a drink… he was completely wasted.”
“Maybe he thought (Channel 9 personality) Karl (Stefanovic) was protecting him, but that clearly wasn’t the case,” they added.
The interview, conducted by reporter Simon Bouda, appeared to catch Clarke off guard, who made it clear he was not at ACA to discuss the scandal.
However, he admitted he viewed the Noosa incident as a “lesson”.

“I call them lessons.” “I call so many things that you know you wish… I think relationships are hard, a lot happens behind closed doors and a lot of things happen that we all have to deal with,” Clarke said .
“I went through a divorce, you know, man, I went through that and it’s so sad, so hard.”
“I think the only thing is you just have to do your best, good times, difficult times, ups, downs, pros and cons; “I’m like everyone else – to this day I stand here and do my best and I hope that doesn’t change.”
Among the lessons he has reportedly learned is to enjoy life in “moderation” to prevent such a brawl from happening again in the future.
In a video filmed by a bystander and later sold to The Daily Telegraph for a reported $10,000, Jade Yarbrough (right) was seen accusing Clarke of cheating on her
“I love a good time,” he said.
“But probably too much for me, I think my whole life and when that, um, whatever it is, going to the gym and working out, it’s all about moderation.”
In the video, which was filmed by a viewer and later sold to The Daily Telegraph for a reported $10,000, Jade accused Clarke of cheating on her with his former tracksuit designer Pip Edwards on December 17.
He was also accused of messaging the co-founder of activewear label PE Nation and confessing she was the “love of his life”.
Earlier this year, Clarke humbly apologized to those involved in the incident at the time and admitted it was all his fault.
