At least 23 dead in four schools in Gaza. Bomb attacks that Hamas blames on Israel killed at least 23 people in four UN schools this Thursday. Two were in the Jabaliya and Chati refugee camps (north) and two others in Boureij. The Jabaliya refugee camp was already hit by strikes on Wednesday.
The encirclement of the Gaza Strip ended. The Israeli army announced that it had “completed the encirclement of Gaza City” a week after beginning its ground operation in the Palestinian enclave. In response, Hamas claimed that Gaza was a “curse” for Israel and warned that its soldiers would leave “in black bags.”
More than 9,000 dead in Gaza. Hamas announced on Thursday that 9,061 people, including 3,760 children, have been killed in the Gaza Strip since the war with Israel began. On the Israeli side there are more than 1,400 dead. At least 15 Israeli soldiers have been killed in the Palestinian enclave since Tuesday.
100 people with dual citizenship left Gaza. A new group of dual nationals left the Gaza Strip for Egypt via the Rafah border crossing. A total of 400 people and 60 injured people were registered and wanted to leave during the day. On Wednesday, 411 people, including injured Palestinians, foreigners and dual nationals, were able to leave the area.
Conflict on the Lebanese border. The IDF confirmed that it had carried out a “major attack” against Hezbollah in response to fire from Lebanon earlier in the day. Hezbollah, for its part, claimed to have simultaneously attacked “19 Israeli positions and military sites.”
