COMMUNITY. Last Friday, October 27th, the second edition of the “Manufacturing of Justinian Origin Awards” took place. The event, led by the Just’En Art organization in Saint-Justin, was the opportunity to announce the 5 winners of 2023.
Recipients are selected based on the quality of their work as well as their influence in the Saint Justin community and elsewhere. They are divided into four different categories: agri-food economy and well-being, artistic creation, natural and built heritage, and personality and notable personality.
Les Eaux Saint Justin
In the “Food and Wellbeing” category we first find Nicole Lelièvre for Les Eaux Saint-Justin. Since 1994, Nicole Lelièvre has continued the development of the company with her team and her two sons, who joined the ranks in 2008. Nicole Lelièvre has done everything to use this water source while protecting the resource and the environment. Bottled directly at the source and delivered in containers made in Saint-Justin, the Eaux Saint-Justin company is an ecological choice.
Oyster mushrooms from Monsieur Champignons
Secondly, Patrick Lamy and Marie-Josée Roy won the prize in the “Agricultural Food and Wellbeing” category for the company Monsieur Champignons. Operating since 2018, the Saint-Justin company produces fresh mushrooms in its greenhouses dedicated exclusively to cultivation. They produce several varieties, including their flagship product: oyster mushrooms. This fresh and processed product is sold at several points of sale in Louiseville and is available in several restaurants in Trois-Rivières and Shawinigan.
Stained glass window of the coat of arms of Saint-Justin
In the “Artistic Creation” category, the prize goes to Ginette Clément for the design of the stained glass window of the municipal coat of arms. For two years, the stained glass window in question has been visible in the council meeting room behind the office of the mayor and his councilors. In 1999, Ginette Clément developed a passion for stained glass. Over the last 24 years she has handled numerous private and corporate contracts. Former mayor François Gagnon, a well-known artist in Saint-Justin, commissioned him to design this stained glass window in 2020.
The Garden of France and Jacques Philibert
In the Natural and Architectural Heritage category we find France and Jacques Philibert for their garden project. This started 45 years ago with the planting of fruit trees. Over the years they have created a property with various gardening arrangements, all born from their shared passion. Over the years, they have hosted several events in their landscaped garden, including public land tours and artisan demonstrations.
Annie Gagnon, is committed to children
The award in the Personality and Remarkable Personality category goes to Annie Gagnon for her contribution to the spread of the arts among first- and second-year children at Saint-Justin. She has them work with techniques similar to those of famous artists. Annie Gagnon offers children projects in which she works with collected recycled materials: flowers like Mr. Van Goh, drawings of animals in Inuit style, birds inspired by the work of Mr. Riopel, and many others.
The Manufacturing of Justinian Origin seal was launched in 2022 by Just’En Art, an organization founded by residents of Saint-Justin. The award of this prize is a guarantee of quality and authenticity. This initiative, more symbolic than official, carries the idea of revitalizing the village of Saint-Justin and getting people talking about it and the people who live there.
