– Tonight is WWE SmackDown, the blue show begins with a video of last week’s contract signing between Roman Reigns and LA Knight. Then LA Knight comes in and tells us that 1,200 days is impressive. But even more impressive is how quickly these 1,200 days will end. LA Knight is coming to get what Roman Reigns has had for three years.
Roman Reigns’ music is a hit and the tribal chief features Paul Heyman. Roman Reigns says he would normally tell the city to recognize him, but the crowd knows who he is…unlike LA Knight. He was okay with the wrestlers performing in his absence, but he didn’t expect it to be LA Knight. Roman Reigns asks the crowd to chant LA Knight’s name and then says this is the last time this will happen.
Roman Reigns says he’s pushing this business forward, but LA Knight is pushing him back. The kids will say what LA Knight does is “cinema,” but he’s the megastar! What has LA Knight been up to in the last few months? People chanting a cousin cosplay’s name? Let him enjoy his night because at Crown Jewel Reigns will destroy and finish him off. LA Knight will remain in the desert and it won’t be the last.
LA Knight tells Roman Reigns that he must think he’s unbeatable because he beat everyone, but he’s not coming to finish anything. He’s here to start something, he’s going to start the LA Knight era. He’s going to star as a guy who’s going to kick his ass. Roman Reigns says he’s a mega star because he has the title, but he became one on his own accord. The officers come to separate the two wrestlers.
– Grayson Waller will be at the commentary table for the next game.
Single game
Kevin Owens vs. Austin Theory
At the end of the match, Kevin Owens performed his pop up powerbomb on Austin Theory and then hit a stunner for the win by pinfall.
Winner: Kevin Owens
– Backstage, Cathy Kelley is with Bianca Belair as she talks to us about her match against Bayley tonight, but Damage CTRL attacks her and the officials arrive to separate the wrestlers.
– Backstage, Logan Paul walks and meets the Street Profits and Bobby Lashley, who are impressed with what Logan Paul is doing. B-Fab arrives and wants to talk to Bobby Lashley.
Tag team match
Piper Niven and Chelsea Green against Shotzi and Charlotte Flair
At the end of the match, Chelsea Green gets the tag and climbs to the top rope. She lunges at Charlotte Flair, who dodges her and hits her with a big boot for the win via pinfall.
Winners: Shotzi and Charlotte Flair
– Solo Sikoa enters the ring with Paul Heyman. The latter wonders how many people realize that the Doctor of Thuganomics, John Cena, is on his last legs. This is not the way Paul Heyman wanted it, it’s not his fault or Roman Reigns’ fault. John Cena returns to WWE and fights against the Bloodline. We don’t think the bloodline won’t respond?
Solo Sikoa has a bright future in WWE, not only as an enforcer but also as a tribal chief. It takes sacrifice to achieve this, and there is no greater sacrifice than John Cena. Solo Sikoa gets on the mic and asks Paul Heyman why he’s wasting his time talking to us when they came to talk to John Cena? The latter comes in and faces Solo Sikoa.
Solo Sikoa says he’s upset about having to wait for Crown Jewel to face John Cena, but he’s following Roman Reigns’ orders. We told him to give Cena the mic so he could say goodbye. Cena asks Solo Sikoa if that’s all he can do? We’ve been waiting to see Sikoa speak for a year and this is all he has. So he will respond with half his voice in 90 seconds. John Cena tells Solo Sikoa that we all know he only has a job here because of his cousin. Sikoa thinks he’s a great enforcer, but he’s nothing more than a cheap Tazz. That’s about 90 seconds. John Cena drops the mic and leaves.
– Behind the scenes we find Damage CTRL. Nick Aldis arrives and tells them that Dakota Kai and Iyo Sky are banned from ringside for tonight’s match. Iyo Sky tells Bayley she can do it.
– The Brawling Brutes enter, followed by Pretty Deadly, but are attacked by their evening opponents as they enter.
Donnybrook rules game
Pretty Deadly (Elton Prince & Kit Wilson) vs. Brawling Brutes (Butch & Ridge Holland)
At the end of the match, Butch and Kit Wilson are in the corner, but Elton Prince throws a bottle at Butch. Pretty Deadly then shoots his “Spilled Milk” through a table and wins by pinfall.
Winner: Pretty Deadly
– Backstage, Nick Aldis runs into Paul Heyman who tells him to have a good medical staff for Crown Jewel because LA Knight is going to need it, it’s going to be the wildest version of Roman Reigns we’ve ever seen.
– It’s time for the weigh-in between Rey Mysterio and Logan Paul before their match at Crown Jewel. Nick Aldis introduces the weigh-in and asks us to welcome Logan Paul and then Rey Mysterio. Paul is the first to get on the scales, he weighs around 97 kg. Now it’s the turn of Rey Mysterio, who weighs about 79 kg. Nick Aldis asks her to meet face to face. Logan Paul insults Rey Mysterio, who hits him. The officers separate them.
– Commentators introduce the WWE Crown Jewel 2023 card.
– Next week on SmackDown: Bobby Lashley meets Carlito.
Single game
Bayley vs. Bianca Belair
At the end of the match, Bianca Belair carries Bayley to her KOD, but Bayley manages to avoid her and then attempts a roll-up. Belair gets up and Bayley grabs Belair’s hair, managing to hit her with her hair. She continues her KOD for the win by pinfall.
Winner: Bianca Belair
– After the match, Bianca Belair celebrates and approaches Bayley’s ring. Belair carries her and attacks her through the announce table again. The show ends like this.
